Full Service Design FAQ

What happens after I inquire?
I'll be in touch within a day or two to schedule a complimentary, no-pressure, get-to-know-you phone chat. I can answer all your questions, learn about your project, and tell you about my process, fees and anything else you’ll need to see if we are a good fit!
I’ve never worked with a designer before... how does it work?
I start every full service interior design project with an initial consultation so that I can get to know you and your home in person and give you a glimpse into how I work. I will then create a proposal for services, based on your unique scope and needs.
Once you’ve said, “I’m in!” I will move your project through a simple, three-phase process. First, the Onboarding phase helps me really understand your style and goals. Next, I complete a detailed Design phase, selecting finishes, furniture and decor, and presenting you with every room’s concept and estimated costs before you commit. The third phase is Implementation, where your space comes to life.
How much does it cost?
I wish there was a magic number or formula to answer that question, but it depends! I have some clients who are furnishing a few rooms, and others who are building a brand new home from the ground up. As a rule of thumb, I would like your project to include at least one full room, top-to-bottom, so that you can enjoy the best experience with me. My goal is to create spaces that your family will use and love for years to come, and that will convey the value of beautiful design. That being said, a one-and-done 2 hour consultation is $550. If you choose to involve me further my hourly rate is $225/hr.
Do you manage construction?
Great question! It’s important to make the distinction that I have chosen to be a design firm, rather than a design-build firm, for several reasons. First, I want to specialize in what I do best, and that is creating beautifully, thoughtfully designed spaces. Second, by remaining small, I can provide the highest degree of personalization for each client and active involvement from me on each project. Lastly, I prefer to connect clients directly with trade professionals so that I don’t have to charge additional fees or overhead. That said, although I don’t act as a general contractor, I do have wonderful professionals that I can recommend to execute your design. I am also 100% committed and fully present for site visits and communication with the trades throughout a project’s construction so that I am ensuring it comes to life flawlessly.
How long does a project take?
The overall length of time depends on the scope of work. Usually, I suggest you allocate at least 5-8 weeks for the design phase, and 16 weeks for implementation.
