kp design was founded in 2008 by Katie Dobbs after 5 years of branded retail and restaurant design at FRCH Design. Her business started with projects from Taco Bell International which quickly expanded her reach from Nassica Spain to Bangalore India. While designing spaces on the other side of the globe, Katie also remained local with revitalizing several restaurants in the urban core of Cincinnati.

 

Katie's passion lies in cultivating positive experiences through the environments people engage in. Establishing new brand identities or refreshing a concept by developing core principles is a puzzle she loves to be involved in.

Thunderdome Restaurant Group has been working with Katie for over 15 years on numerous restaurant ideations. Other commercial clients include Dewey's Pizza, Envision Cinemas, SSA, Pacaso, FC Cincinnati.

 

Over her career, Katie lent her design-eye to family and friends for assistance on their personal homes. In 2020, during a downshift in commercial business due to Covid, residential projects flourished and became a new extension of kp design's service offerings. Katie enjoys producing positive changes for her residential clients that impact their daily life.

Free time is spent traveling with her husband Justin and their two children Reagan and Gavin. Seeing new places energizes her designs. When they aren't on an airplane, you can find the Dobbs family at UC sporting events rooting on their Bearcats.
